Price: Every 1k words costs $3

For example, 12k word fic, would cost $36

Beta Read = Reading through your fic and correcting any spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes, along with adding input i.e annotating your document, offering feedback, tips and suggestions.

When I provide input on your fic, I won't ever change the original writing. Instead, depending on the formatting, I'll highlight the section, and leave a comment, or add a comment in parentheses. Fic may be sent back and forth multiple times till writer finds the end result to be satisfactory.

When you purchase a beta read for your chapter, you only have to purchase it the one time. There will be no extra charges if the fic needs beta read multiple times over, nor will their be a price increase if the word count of the fic goes up during editing (unless the added word hits or exceeds 5k+ words, then there will be an additional charge).

Iterations I'll write: Rottmnt, 2012, Mutant Mayhem/Tottmnt & crossovers between those iterations.

What I won't write: Religion of any kind, kinks/fetishes, porn, Oc X Canon, or any Oc content.

If its not listed in my don'ts list, then I'll probably write it!! I will absolutely write dark content/gore/mature content (please note that implied NSFW is allowed).

When commissioning me, you can either

A. Request a set amount of words, and I'll strictly stay within that word count so payment isn't a hustle.

B. You give me an over all word count you'd prefer, I write it out, and you pay depending on the end word count (i.e. request around 3k-5k words and I write 4k)

Alright so I'm thinking about making a Mononoke fanfic but where their in the modern era and they have to deal with stupid ahhh modern Mononoke, right now in planing the first chapter to be about a Mononoke in a high school. But also I'll probably work on this over summer so in a few weeks when I get inspo, my friend said she'll proof read but she's never watched Mononoke. Is anyone willing to be my proof reader? Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that one of my IRL friends has a Tumblr account where she does free proofreading! She hasn’t gotten any requests yet, so I thought I’d advertise her here. If you aren’t interested in having a proofreader, feel free to keep scrolling.

If you’re still here, awesome! Like I said, my friend is doing free proofreading, on pretty much everything: fanfics, hcs, drabbles, oneshots, vents…you name it, she’ll (probably, provided it follows their rules) do it. She’s a native English speaker, and she’s really good at what she does. I’ve had her proofread my writings (not for Tumblr, for other things) for a while now, and she’s great at it. Just DM her and she’ll have you send your work to her email (or to her Tumblr inbox, I’m not exactly sure how she plans on doing it lol), she’ll proofread it and then send it right back. She’s 100% legit, I can promise you that. So, whether you aren’t a native Enlish speaker, don’t have the time to do it yourself, or just don’t really want to proofread your own stuff, you can message her and she’ll do it for you!

Alexander Cruden the self titled "Alexander the Corrector" passed away on November 1st 1770.

Cruden was a bookseller and corrector of proofs, and is famed as the compiler of a useful Bible study tool—the first complete English language concordance of the Bible.

Hardworking, loyal and gentle, he was also said to be obsessive believing God had appointed him to correct people's morals. and his obsessive horror of blasphemy once caused him to strike a cursing man with a shovel, leading to one of his three incarcerations in madhouses.

Cruden was one of the most public and vociferous mad figures of the eighteenth century. He was from Aberdeen, well-educated and a devout Christian, though his madness did not apparently originate in spiritual fervour, even if it took on a strongly religious line later in lift when he became involved in a series of conflicts in his self-appointed role as 'Alexander the Corrector' of the nation's morals. He was first confined for a short time by his parents in Aberdeen after a youthful romantic infatuation. On moving to London, he worked as a corrector of the press as well as running a small bookshop, and in 1737 he published his Complete Concordance to the Bible, a remarkable achievement and still an essential item of biblical scholarship.

FREE* PROOFREADING!!

I'm a new-to-the-industry proofreader looking for samples to add to a portfolio for prospective clients. For this reason, I'm inviting work from writers who would benefit from free proofreading, with the following guidelines:

No smut - it's okay if there's a little spicy bit here and there, because I can edit it out to make it work for a professional context, but if the work is just straight up erotica, I can't use it. Not kinkshaming, it just isn't suitable for my purpose right now. This may change in the future because proofreading/editing for steamy romance is absolutely a thing, it's just not what I'm aiming for at this moment.

Intended for (or already) public publishing - I would like to be able to reference back to, for instance, the piece published on AO3 or someone's blog or in print. Sample pieces have more impact if they are demonstrably from a real writer and not just something I cooked up with chatgpt to make myself look good.

I may wish to "sanitize" overt fandom content - this is something I might do for a fandom that (sigh) doesn't strike people as professional (like some kind of extremely horny anime). This would be a step I would take only for my version of the document, and I would only do this with the permission of the writer. I know it doesn't feel good to have your work scrubbed of its context, but this would only be for the version shown in my portfolio. You will receive my proofreading services (a tracked edit or annotated document, your choice, with fandom content intact) just like everyone else, it's just for the version displayed in my portfolio I might (with your permission!) like to change character and place names to make it generic.

At least 1000 words - I am happy to do longer pieces up to 10k, though I would be choosing specific pages or excerpts for my portfolio. I'm flexible on this, honestly. I could go through a website to catch spelling and grammar problems on, for instance, a series of blog posts. I'd just like a given project to be worth the effort and yield something for my portfolio.

In English - I can wholeheartedly offer my services in US English! I can do my best with UK/AUS/NZ etc English, but I'm hesitant due to, y'know, wanting to make myself look good in my own portfolio. I'm not good enough in any other language to offer proofreading. Sorry!

Willing to be identified by at least your pen name - again, what makes these samples helpful for me is that I can demonstrate that they were real things published by real authors, even if just a username or pseudonym. All works must attributed to someone.
